Cottonwood Air Intake Filter Solutions
Model U
Commonly called cottonwood screens, air intake filter screens capture airborne particulates before they can enter your HVAC system fins, louvers, coils or fill material. Flexible vinyl frame with grommets mounts easily onto the front of your HVAC air intake. Easy to see dirt build-up and easy to clean BHC electrostatic polypropylene media in 1 or 2 layers will capture more finer particles than BHA.
Model BHA
Commonly called cottonwood screens, air intake filter screens capture airborne particulates before they can enter your HVAC system fins, louvers, coils or fill material. Flexible vinyl filter frame with grommets mounts easily onto the front of your HVAC air intake. Easy to see dirt build-up and easy to clean BHA high abrasion media in 1 layer captures larger particles in harsh outdoor conditions.
Model R
Keeps equipment like compressors, electronic enclosures, portable cooling, process equipment or food service coolers running clean. Rigid 1/4″ steel filter frame slides easily into filter holding channels or magnetically attaches to the outside of the enclosure intake with metal stripping. Easy to see dirt build-up and easy to clean BHC electrostatic polypropylene media in 1 or 2 layers depending on particle size.
Model PF
Replaces hard to clean metal mesh prefilters in fresh air intakes. Rigid 1″ or 2″ steel filter frame slides easily into existing filter rack systems. Use as a prefilter to extend the life of bag, pleated or v-bank style air filters from harsh outdoor elements like cottonwood. Easy to clean BHC electrostatic polypropylene media captures larger particles before they can clog interior high efficiency filters.
3-D Bonnet

Wrap-Around AC Filter

MagnaMount Clips
Magnetic air filter mount clips reduce Models U or BHA installation time and require no tools. A unique, patented way to install PreVent filters Model U or BHA or HailStop® hail guard netting onto the outside of HVAC air intakes. Strong neodymium “earth” magnets tested for 100 MPH wind speed can be repositioned as needed.
Screw-In Mount Clips
Use these durable black plastic mount clips to attach PreVent Model U or BHA filters that contain 3/8″ grommets on the vinyl filter frame or HailStop hail guard netting to HVAC air intakes. Clip with self-tapping screws, has a moveable tab that opens and closes for secure installation and easy removal for maintenance.
EZ-Rail System
A new, patent-pending mount option, the PreVent EZ-Rail System ™ is used to install either our PreVent filter screen Models U or BHA tightly onto MAUs with minimal air bypass. Intake filters will easily slide in and out of the track system for critical maintenance without needing ladders or lifts.
Pulley Mount Kit
A new mount option, Model CTFS is used to install our PreVent BHA filters over large cooling tower air intakes. This makes it simple to clean extra-large PreVent screen installations by simply lowering the screen to clean and then quickly lift it back up into place on cooling towers.

Are the air filter screens washable?
Yes, our PreVent filters are washable. They can be simply sprayed with a detergent and water rinsed or vacuumed for dirt removal.
How often do I need to clean my cottonwood screen?
It depends on the environment around you, and the time of year. For example, cottonwood trees can lose their seedlings from May through October. During the worst of the season, you may want to check the screen every week or two, although typically you can check it less often.
Is a cottonwood screen and an air intake screen the same thing?
Yes. Because cottonwood is such a significant problem in some areas, many people refer to the product as a “cottonwood screen” or a “cottonwood filter.” Because the screen fits over an air intake opening, they are also commonly referred to as an “air intake screen” or “air intake filter,” particularly in areas where cottonwood is not a significant problem.
Does a PreVent filter come with a warranty?
Yes, our PreVent filters, like many of our filters, come with a 5-year warranty.
Will my PreVent cottonwood screen fit my air intake?
Our PreVent air intake filters are custom-made and so can fit any air intake, no matter how big or small. We can design them to fit into any shape or size, including around pipes or other obstacles.
